Complete mission for C&S engineering
The attic of an existing house was transformed to an open space with a panoramic view over the local Asper church and surroundings. To this purpose, a complex steel-and-glass roof structure was installed on top of the existing brick walls. This structure was supported by various interventions within the old house, which will remain invisible after completion of the refurbishment. The glass roof visually supports a skybar on top of the house.
The glass pannels were placed with a slight inclination of 2cm, left to right. As a consequence, a unique landscape of reflections unfolds over the course of the day. On the inside however, maximum transparency was achieved through the use of slender steel T-profiles. As a whole, they form an abstract play of black lines against the cloudy sky backdrop.
